Easter

My first Easter away from home was wonderful. Aimee, Camille and I awoke very early on Sunday to trek down to Lincoln Memorial for a sunrise service. It was beautiful, despite the freezing cold temperature.

It was wonderful to remember what Christ did for me. I am very grateful that Christ Jesus rose on the the third day to set me free from my sins.

We celebrated the day by decorating eggs, a feast, and hunting for eggs.

April showers bring May flowers, or does it

Well, whoever came up with that saying obviously never lived in Virginia or meant snow showers, not rain. I awoke to this today:

Yes, that is my car outside with snow on it. The worst part is that the beautiful daffodils in are front yard looked quite sad. :-(

I do not think they will recover. This is quite sad as the daffodils made our yard look so pretty.

Cherry Blossoms

On Tuesday, Camille and I went to the Tidal Basin to see the Cherry Blossoms at sunset. The metro was very crowded and the Cherry blossom area was even more crowded. Mom, Heather, the boys, and I accidentally got to experience the street traffic on Monday, but that story is for another blog. While taking many pictures, I discovered a new function on my camera. It has a sunset setting! I think this improved the pictures immensely. Here is the proof:

Bethany's Wedding

It happened. Bethany is now Mrs. Keith Miller. It is so amazing. The wedding was beautiful and of course Bethany was radiating. My toast to Bethany and Keith did not go how I planned. I cried through almost the whole thing. Anyways for those that did not hear the toast, here is the my toast along with the few pictures I took.

To Bethany and Keith,

When we were growing up Bethanys sed to tell me that she was going to be an Unclaimed Treasure. I never believed her. And now we all know that God had another plan.

Her emblem during high school was Don Quixote - Dreaming the Impossible Dream. I am glad that Bethany's impossible dream has become possible. She is marrying her Ideal Husband. Of course, as Mable said, " An ideal husband! I don't think I should like that. It sounds like something in the next world." I see clearly that Keith is really ideally formed by God for Bethany.

The summer we were in Romania together for a study abroad Bethany purchased an icon of John the Baptist because the Lord told her He was calling her to prepare the way for another - that her calling was to be a support for someone else. She was not sure if it was a husband or perhaps someone in the political sphere. Again we now see God's plan unfolding as she is marrying Keith.

Bethany, you were an unclaimed treasure for a season, a Dona Quixote tilting wind mills and dreaming the impossible dream, a lady preparing herself to fulfill God's call on her life. And you are my sister, my friend and now you are stepping into a new season of life. I look forward to seeing your new life with Keith unfold.

Here's to Bethany and Keith, May their marriage be long. May their marriage glorify God. May they be blessed with many offspring.

Let it snow, let is snow

It Snowed on Sunday! It was beautiful. My roommate, Camille and I made it a whole day of fun. We made snow angels, a snowman, snow cream, and trudged through the snow to a wood cove.

We made a really cute snowman.

First NBA Basketball Game

Wow! My first ever NBA Basketball game was a blast. I saw the Phoenix Suns play the Washington Wizards. It was at the MCI Center in Chinatown. My co-worker and I took the metro in. The game was a blow out. It was not good for my co-worker considering he is a Wizard fan. The Suns lead the whole game and at some times by over 30 points. The final score was 127 to 105.
